Disabling WiFi at certain times

Hey forum,

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I want to be able to disable the WiFi on the router in the house between certain hours, so that teenagers in the house will actually go to sleep.
There is a switch on the back which would disable it but it would just get switched back on at 1:00 AM.

The router is a TP-Link TD-W8980.

If it's possible to disable only certain devices on the WiFi network, even better.

Any help is much appreciated.

Dig around in the router settings, usually there is some Parental Control feature in there that will allow you to schedule when wireless is on or off.

A more mundane way of doing the same thing is to get one of those timed power boards (idea is that it turns the TV off at night) and hook it up to that.

As for just cutting off the kids internet while the rest of the house is fine. I feel you would need change the SSID (the name of the network) and password simultaneously, and every other device in the house has the details to login to either one. Again, dig around and see if there are toggle-able profiles in the router.

Check out the Parental controls section. It allows you to set time restrictions based on mac address (unique to each device connected to router). Hopefully your kids aren't techie enough to hack your password to figure this stuff out.

I'd also suggest making sure the firmware is up to date so you have all the latest features.
