Disadvantage of malfunctioned hardware

what is the effect to the user when he or she encounter a malfunctioned hardware or software of the computer?...

Blue screen of Death, blank screen of toast, or smoking computer, in which you should have a fre extinguisher handy.

Err.. mostly frustration, but death can ensue in extreme cases!!!

Being sarcastic, anyway the downside is slower performance for the bad items or it just not working. Hope it isn't hardware cause you need to RMA that.
