So I bought the EVGA GeForce GTX 660 in July and have not been satisfied. I have been getting frames dropped and low FPS on low settings in League Of Legends. And in more graphics intense games the frame rate is super inconsistent. I dont think its the graphics card because I have read really impressive reviews. I have heard it might be a temperature problem. Here is the temp of my pc: http://gyazo.com/ed230487efc457e3d7431da3a3f13c0e

My specs are:
AMD FX 4100 quad core processor
8GB ram DDR3 ram
MSI 760GM-P23(FX) (MS-7641) motherboard

If there is anything to solve this (Im guessing a fan) I would be so grateful. Thanks

you might be using settings that are too high for this card. the gtx 660 is a good card, but it isn't great. it wont run everything at max settings,

lets first start with what settings do you use to play? what resolution?

you're at 40c which is pretty cool for a GPU

have you tried monitoring gpu and cpu usage?
if your settings are too high, the card might not keep up

Get GPU-Z from techpowerup.com and open it before you start LOL, and select the sensor tab
select continue refreshing while in background

also open task manager or resrouce monitor in background to check cpu usage

load up a game and right after you notice a large number of drop frames, alt tab out and see if you can take screen shots of gpu-z and task manager and show it to us

also consider updating your drivers

I have been playing at medium to low settings

Ok i will try that tomorrow and report back thanks

Do you have an idea what it might be?

possibly a driver issue or card has issues

maybe do what I suggested earlier and see what results are

maybe the card is under clokcing itself for short periods for some reason which can cause performance to drop until it clock back up
(happened on my card which I fixed by adjusting power limit)

and how does one adjust the power limit?
