Hello guys.
I am considering buying a new laptop. The model I've found and I like has an HDD disc though and I want to replace it with the formatted SSD from my previous laptop. (Due to lower power consumption, greater speed, etc). So I already have an 256gb SSD from my previous laptop ready replace the new HDD one, yet what is going to happen with my Official and Activated Windows 8 that I'll have purchased with the laptop?
I can reinstall windows 8 on the SSD but I won't have a key to Activate them... How will I be able to get the previous Serial Key if laptops work only with partition recovery these days? I've asked a guy in the store I'll buy my laptop from and he told me he doesn't know and that I'll have to ask for Support. However to create a Support message I need a model serial number that I don't have since I haven't bought the laptop yet, so I don't know what to do... I really don't want to stick with the HDD but also I can't afford another model.
Is it possible to make a Recovery disk with my laptop when I get it, then replace the disk with my SSD and run the recovery disk I've made?
The laptop I want to buy is an Asus if that helps....

Thanks in advance....

The product key for Windows 8 is stored in the motherboard BIOS of OEM laptops that come with Windows 8 installed. Windows 8 can read the value from the motherboard and use it.

All you need is a Windows 8 disc and you can install the operating system clean on the computer and it should work fine.

If this doesn't work, you can always boot the original drive and run Magical Jelly Bean to find the installation key and write it down to use on the other drive.

Here is a link to Magical Jelly Bean (you only need the free edition):

Good luck :)
