Disc space loss in hp laptop

Hello,
i had 640 gb....but due to some fault of mine i lost 300gb space unused..wat should i do?can i reinstall windows 7 os

What do you mean by lost 300gb of space ?? -- Is it unformatted space left empty on the Hdd - lost space due to a backup image - lost space due to saving an old installation that was on the Hdd prior to this install - etc. etc.

What to do to fix things really depends on what was done and it is hard to give any advice without details !!
