Hello,
While taking the HDD out of my laptop for an SSD upgrade, I noticed there is a green liquid on the thin black foil part that covers it. I've attached some photos.
The HDD was still working perfectly before this. I cleaned the black foil with a wet q-tip and put the SSD in (after it was dry, of course).
Now I want to put the HDD into the optical drive bay (I have a caddy).
So my questions are: What were those stains? Are they dangerous? Should I clean the PCB on the HDD as well (with isopropyl alcohol or something)?
The HDD is a Western Digital WD5000LPCX, about 2 years old.
