please dont say rarer is more money
because in the gaming pc world that doesnt make sense

if you are too stupid to make a gaming pc you shoudlnt make a gaming pc

its about performance per $ aka best bang for your buck aka is that graphic card worth the money?

GTX 750 is 2 times better than the 7770 and the 750 is $100 7770 is $140

It is simple economics, it all has to do with supply and demand.

Just because someone has a gaming computer does not mean they know how to build them and keep up on modern hardware. Their GPU goes out 3 years latter and they think they need to get the same card or don't want to research all that computer mumbo-jumbo and just look for an exact replacement. Or could also be that the buddy "that knows computer" told them to get that card because they remember reading online or an a magazine that that was a good card.

Due to these people specifically looking for HD 7770 there is still a demand and a very limited supply.

Now granted it makes more sense with things like CPUs that you have to match to supported sockets and bios. I had...
There are limited stocks left once production stops on the cards.
Companies could keep selling the cards at their normal retail prices and call it good. However, as the demand goes down and their stocks as well, its harder to make profit off of them. Retailers would rather keep a shelf in a warehouse for older cards, and sell them at a higher price than just get rid of them.

It dosent cost them anything to keep them for a little longer, so why not? Its not about how rare the cards are.
