Question Discord lag spikes with new ISP ?

I recently changed my internet provider and it has the exact same speed as the one i had before, but on discord, every 4-5 minutes or so it starts lagging so bad that I cannot understand what other people are saying, I noticed that when people have their webcam or screen share on, the lag spikes are more frequent, but its strange because if i play an online game, lag spikes never happen. Is there a possible fix?

First thing to try since you posted this to wireless networking is to try a ethernet cable. No sense chasing a wifi issue when it could be something else.

The simple difference is your router maybe using different radio channels or you might even be using a different radio band ie 2.4 or 5

If it really is only discord and nothing else then it is going to be more like some issue with the discord program.

You need to do some careful testing to see when the problem happens and when it does not. Best would be to use ping commands to test since it is a big easier to tell than waiting for some random issue might or might not hear. Start by a constant ping to 8.8.8.8. You could also try the discord servers if you know their IP.
