Question Discord screen sharing/OBS Virtual Cam freezes computer ?

Whenever I try to share my screen on discord or use OBS virtual camera, my computer will freeze for a second and then respond normally for the next few. I can record and stream to twitch using OBS without any issue. I do not notice any spikes in CPU, GPU, or memory usage while trying to screen share either. Does anyone have an idea as to what my issue could be? Thanks.

Current computer hardware:
CPU - RYZEN 5600X
GPU - RTX 3070
RAM - 3000Mhz ram 16gbs
PSU - RM750X - 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold (3 years old)

I put in my old GPU, a 1070 ti, and the freezing stopped. Put back in the 3070 and it continues to happen.

On this, since both Nvidia I'm not sure if new drivers are required.

However, I'd always suggest uninstalling the gpu drivers and re-install just to have it done.

If that doesn't work, then try removing the drivers and install an older version of the driver - just to see if it have any impact at all.

Also - does it affect other programs than just OBS? What about games?

I have tried to do a fresh install of the drivers, did not work. I just installed a few versions of older drivers, did not work. My computer doesn't freeze while I am playing games, but it will do the on and off freezing whenever I try to share my screen on discord until I stop sharing my screen.

Do you have some other software that may interfere with the GPU ?

I reinstalled windows 10, and only installed discord, the Nvidia drivers, and chrome and it is still happening.

I updated the latest BIOS on my motherboard and this issue seems to be fixed.
