I have an 1TB 7200 RPM HDD. I have my Windows and After Effects on it.
Now I want to by an SSD to assign the disk cache of After Effects to the SDD.

Now I know that I should keep the Windows on the SSD but

I just want to know

Will I see improvement in performance with the SSD being assigned for Disk Cache rather than the HDD?

Thanks

Solution

I wouldn't.
But you can try it if you want. It's just a change in the application settings.

Question from Shernel : "Disk Cache USB"

I using After Effects and I want to assign the Media Cache of AE using the Flash Drive 3.0 USB 32GB

Will it show performance gains or using flash drives for Disk Cache is not ideal ?

When AE needs to use that cache space, it will be faster if that cache lives on an SSD.
