Disk clean up system error memory dump files?

Hey,

So been having this issue for a while now and it's not really causing any issues, but it's getting kind of annoying now.

Every night I run disk clean-up on my C drive, it's just a habit I've had for years.

When running it I always get "system error memory dump files" come up using around <1GB of space.

Even if I run the clean-up and select those files to be deleted and instantly run the disk clean-up again there is yet again around <1GB of those files to be cleared.

My PC runs absolutely fine all day every day, with absolutely no blue screens or issues whatsoever.

The fact that these files appear in clean-up (and when I clear them) has caused no issue to my PC, but it's just annoying seeing them every time I run the disk clean-up.

I also sometimes get "system created windows error reporting files" as well, but they are less than 1MB.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance.

The memory.dmp file is created on every windows system, if you bsod or not. I have 992mb of files showing with the same description yet I have not had a BSOD in over 18 months. Its created by the system to track system events, its used in logging of the system by Event viewer.

You can follow option one here and then do this step below: Small memory dumps - Have Windows Create a Small Memory Dump (Minidump) but I am not sure if this removes the memory.dmp or just makes PC create a minidump on BSOD

Ah right, ok.

As long as I know it's not causing any issues, or I have something wrong then I will just leave it be, it's no problem.

I didn't realise everyone got it.

Thanks for your help.
