Disk management/Device manager not detecting new ssd

Hello everyone, I've come up on a problem that I haven't been able to solve, so you guys are my last hope before I return it. I've been upgrading an older pc, and I've put a Sandisk 240GB ssd in recently, and the system recognized it, and I was able to initialize, format, and start using it right away. I bought a second Sandisk 1TB ssd, and the bios will recognize it, but when I boot in to Windows neither disk management nor device manager will recognize it. I've tried different cables, and different SATA ports with no luck. I put the new 1TB ssd into my laptop, booted up, and had the option to initialize and format immediately. I've searched through a majority of the post already related to this, but nothing has worked so far. Basically, I'm just wanting to use this ssd for game storage. Thanks in advance!
