I was planning on dual booting Ubuntu, and went to create a partition with disk management, but every time I open it, it gets stuck on "Connecting to Virtual Disk Service..." I have been searching for an answer for hours now, but none of the solutions seem to work for me. Thank you in advance for any help.

Thank you for the quick reply :). So what you are saying is that I don't have to partition in Windows because Ubuntu can do it for me? Do I have go through a certain installation process in order for the partitions to be made?

I haven't used Ubuntu for a few years - I'm a Mint man now - but if I remember rightly, it will do the job for you but you need to be very careful how you let it handle the dual-booting. I fell over on that one a few times with different distros, sometimes losing Windows, to the extent that I now prefer to use separate disks and get BIOS to ask me which one to use at startup.

I have a recovery disk if I screw up on dual boot setup. Also, does Mint partition as well? I have been looking at a lot of distros to see which one I want to install, so far I have Ubuntu on my mind. I heard Mint was a really good distro and I'll probably do a little more research on distros like Ubuntu and Mint before I make the final decision.
