Recently a client brought in a Windows 7 desktop with 2 500 GB HDDs setup in RAID 1(mirrored) thru Windows Disk Management. I discovered that one of the HDDs was failing and my client decided to upgrade to 2 2TB HDDs. I pulled an image off the good HDD he originally had, transfered it to one of the new HDDs and installed both of the new drives in his desktop. When I try to mirror the new drives, I get an error message stating that the operation failed and that the disk management service needs to be refreshed. If that doesn't work then restart disk management or restart the computer. Did all 3 of those, still no go on setting up the RAID array. Client dosen't want to use thrid party software, so I have no choice but to get it to work thru Windows. Anybody got any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Yeah thats probably the biggest problem is using Windows for this to begin with. Thinking of taking the good drive from the original array and booting to that, then build the array with the new drives, then add the image to array and remove the original drive. But I hate to do all that drive swapping and it still not work.
