Hello ,

So i recently added an NVME M.2 500gb samsung EVO 970 to my pc , and everything went successfully .

Basically i cloned all my HDD to my SSD .
My HDD was split in 2 parts 250gb and 500gb ( 250 werent even used )
so when i cloned my SSD split into 2 parts too .
And then , after using disk management in windows , some things could not be changed .

as u can see in this image

49017697_2327555237531269_3778648395216846848_n.png

( sorry if its in german ) and dont mind the splitting , it happened for a reason :p !

Basically my goal is : i want my ( D: ) to be simply only 1 partition (1TB ) , but that 496MB thing cant be deleted and because of it the 241 GB cannot be added to the rest . Because apparently when the OS was on the HDD that 496Mb partition was necesarry and therefore cannot be simply deleted by right-clicking and pressing on delete.

I am sorry if i wasnt clear in some parts

Thanks in advance

Solution

If they won't go away via right click, then the commandline tool diskpart, and the clean function will wipe that entire drive.

Be absolutely sure which physical drive you are addressing with this.

First, verify.
Does your system boot from the new SSD all by itself? Physically disconnect the HDD and test this.
If yes, then...
Is there anything on the old HDD you still need?
If no, then simply delete ALL partitions on the old HDD, leaving one blank space.

Thanks for the help , but that simply didnt work because when i left click that 496mb thing it only shows 'help' nothing else .

Yeah i already have a backup , so i can delete it !
But how to do that ? that 496 and 62mb spaces cannot be deleted by simply left-clicking and deleting .
And apparently u cant merge two disks when they are not adjacent .
And how can i be sure that when i delete ( D: ) it will become one partition ?
