Disk Read Error After Installing Windows 7 on SSD on a Sony Vaio

I've been trying to upgrade my mom's older Sony VAIO VGN-NS240E to an SSD but I cannot get Windows 7 installed on it. Every time the install completes the first part (expanding files ,etc.) it restarts and then I get a "Disk Read Error, press CTRL ALT DELETE To restart" every time without fail.
I've been using an USB to install the OS, since every time I try to use a Windows 7 DVD, it gets to expanding files for about 5 minutes, then I get a error saying it can't Windows, make sure you have the files and media (or something like that).

Interestingly, I installed the SSD to another laptop (as a secondary drive) to test it out, and it has no problems booting into the partially installed Windows 7 OS, and I also tested it and it has no errors so it's not a bad SSD. What can I do to get Windows 7 to work on this laptop with an SSD? Please help!

I ruled out all other possibilities...I'm absolutely stumped. I tried everything there but I'm still getting the error. I don't know if I have to update the BIOS, I mean, this laptop's from 2009, it should easily handle an SSD.

Update: After multiple restarts, it FINALLY got into the next step of the installation randomly and booting up into the "completing installation" screen, and it even changed the screen resolution. Moments later, I was then met with a "Windows could not configure one or more components" error. After restarting, I get the wonderful Disk read error again.

I've had that error before... and every time it was with a Samsung SSD.

This is what I did to clear it: I simply just started completely over.

I booted from the Windows DVD and went to ADVANCED OPTIONS to display all disks.

I had to get rid of ALL PARTITIONS on the SSD, including the two system reserve partitions... because they were the cause of the install problems.

Once everything became free space... I created a single new partition and did a quick format.

Next, I proceeded with the install and Windows installed without incident.

It still does it
I can install Windows 7 on an HDD with no problems, but an SSD, it gives me the disk read error. Sometimes when I do restart, it'll show the starting Windows screen but no animation of the 4 balls. Then it'll go blank and just stay like that.
