disk read error

seagate pata ide hard disk.
on boot it says disk read error ctrl+alt+ del to restart.
But shows up completely fine in BIOS.
I tried to run live os from pen drive like wondershare live boot, hiren boot cd 15. but my hard disk don't show up wen live os get started.
how CAN I FIX THIS? ?

and yes same pc same ide cable another hard disk working totally FINE.

if it's dead then why it is still rotating. plus shows up in BIOS Totally FINE.

If it's not dead then why can't any OS see it? There's more to a hard disk than just a spinning platter, and the BIOS just tests that it is there not that it is functioning correctly.

Your disk is dead.

Well thanks anyway. I think I have to accept it thats its not coming back
