Disk read error

So every morning when I turn on my desktop I get this message" disk read error press ctrl Alt delete to restart. If I do that or simply press the reset button I always get the same message. I am able to boot into bios no problem.
Now, if I shut down my pc by holding down the power button and then turn it back on it boots into Windows just fine. I can then restart my pc as often as I want and never get the disk read error. All games and apps run just fine. This only seems to occur after the PC has been shut down for the night.
I ran disk check from Windows, no problems. I ran chkdsk /F /R /X from command prompt and no errors and no bad sectors. Tried repairing from the Windows disk and Windows just says it can't repair my pc which I assume means it can't find a problem to repair.
Again , I can get into Windows just fine by doing a manual power down and back on but is frustrating to get this error message every single morning.
PC specs: AMD 8350 @4.6 Prime 95 stable.
ASUS crosshair V formula Z motherboard.
2x XFX 390x crossfire
Samsung 850 evo 500gb SSD
Cougar 80+ bronze 1200w psu.
All components are brand new, less than a month, except the cpu which I took from another pc.
Any ideas?

Solution
Hey there, Mateu!

If you have only the SSD drive in your system, chkdsk couldn't be very accurate. This Windows feature was specifically designed for magnetic HDDs, so it doesn't really work for solid state drives. I'd advise you to run a SSD diagnostic utility that will allow you to determine the health and SMART status. You should also refer to the SSD manufacturer's brand-specific tool and make sure everything is okay with the drive there as well.

It might also be a good idea to check your connections inside the rig and make sure everything is mounted properly.

Good luck! :)

Check windows event viewer.
Open windows explorer, right click on Manage Computer
Click on Event Viewer, Windows Logs, System
Click on Filter Current Log and check Critical, Warning and Error, then click on OK
Look through the messages for details on your problem.
If you have any questions about the event viewer messages, cut and paste them back here.

Seems to be the only disk errors I was getting.
Anyways just to check I changed Sata cables and switched the port on the motherboard and so far no problems at all........wont know until I shut it down over night again though. I also used Samsung Magician which came with the drive and its says the drives health status is good and firmware is up to date.
The only I noticed now after switching cables and ports on the mother board is there is a " safely remove hardware and eject media" icon in the lower right coner of my desktop now. Not causing any problems or anything but I cant get rid of it.

Hey there again, Mateu!

I'm glad you've got rid of the disk read error. I believe that you should also check the SATA controller and chipset drivers for your motherboard. Make sure you manually update them from the mobo manufacturer's official website. This might help you with the "Safely remove hardware and eject media" icon.

Best of luck!
