I have 2 ssds in raid 0

So over the weekend I had 2 disk read failures. I was able to press F8 during the boot up (before the error went off say press ctn alt del) and double checking to make sure both hard drives still are up and good and then telling it to reboot and it started up just fine. I am concerned because I am not sure if this is a tale of one of my hard drives dying or if there is another issue. Is there any programs i should run at this point to try to fix any issues or do you think I have a ticking time bomb on my hands and should just replace the ssds?

I utilize RAID at work all the time in SQL servers, file servers, and other machines that need either the 24/7 reliability, or multispindle disk arrays for speed. The cost of doing RAID right is always higher than standard drives...To get tremendous gains - I typically have RAID arrays of 10+ drives to get the largest benefits out of the array.

At home, I have 4 computers - none are in RAID - Why you ask? Any RAID array you have, you are multiplying the possibility of losing data (RAID0 especially - as with 2 drives, you are twice as likely to have a 100% failure in your ARRAY, 3 drives are 3 times more likely, 4 drives are 4 times as likely, etc....)

My main rig has an OS drive (SSD - 128GB), data drive (1TB HDD) and a backup drive (4TB HDD). Other computers have two drives - SSD (90-128GB) for OS and 500MB - 2TB HDD for data. Everything is backed up to the 4TB HDD daily.

At work with the RAID arrays, I have a locked filing cabinet with 20% spare drives waiting for one to fail....down time is not an option at work, as when a server is down, I can lose thousands of dollars an hour....

At home, I basically lose "play time" on the internet...to replace a drive and restore 100% of the contents (ISO image for OS, SyncBack for data) takes about 30-120 minutes (depending upon the total data size to restore).

With Windows becoming a "clicking system" (you don't have to type the location of the program - just click the icon), why worry about 2 SSD drives for your OS and programs? And with Libraries, you can have data on multiple drives - event multiple machines, and never have to remember the path....

Just thoughts.

BTW - with read failures....one of your two drives may have a short life span....

the drives are Corsair Force Series 3 120GB Solid State Drive . The reason i went with raid 0 is i bought these back in 2011 when these drives were pricy and to get 240GB it was less expensive to buy 2 of these then then to buy 1 256GB drive. As far as Data its all backed up onto my server (with i have 3 1tb wd blacks in raid 5 to protect data). I was just curious what i could do or if there are any programs that i could run that would maybe save these drives or if i should just bite the bullet and buy a new ssd.
