Question Disk stuck at 100% active time

My D: drive shoots up to 100% active time. Have noticed this happens when a program says "verifying" like Steam or Epic Games.

I guess it runs integrity check on the game files. Does it go down to normal after the game starts?

no during last parts of downloading the game. to fix it i need to uninstall steam

run health check on the hdd?

when i run error checking it says "There was a problem scanning this drive"

backup your data and replace the drive
