Hi Im new here, but I got a problem. I got my new motherboard and processor. Downloaded new fresh windows 10 and now Im having problems with my DISK. Everytime I open an app or a game, my disk usage goes up to 100%. Im not talking about ram or anything, but my hard drive. Anyone who knows the answer?

My opinion on this problem is that I bought new motherboard with DDR4 slots, but I had 2x4GB RAM DDR3 before with my old motherboard. Now I have only 1 8GB RAM. Even if my memory usage is 40% my disk still goes up to 100% for 30s - 1min. Then my computer is slow as hell. I just think that I dont have enough Random Access Memory and computer is forced to use hard drive.

Even if Im here with my theory, I still don't know about computers anything.

(It gives me Single-Channel Unknown 15-15-15-36, but the RAM is actually Corsair Vengeance LPX - DDR4 - 8 GB - DIMM 288-pin with 16-16-16-39.)
I don't know what it means.

Solution
A big thing is the bottle neck for performance you are running into by using a mechanical drive instead of an SSD. You have a fast PC that is only as good as its weakest link: in this case, it is your hard drive.

The other reason could be malware running in the background but looking at your specs -- I would say the hard drive is to blame.
