I mainly use my computer for music and a game called League Of Legends and whenever i start up my game it will lag every so often and be at 1 fps and then at around 20 minutes the game and my computer will freeze and i will get the buffering sign on my cursor. I cannot open up anything like task manager or even bring up the command prompt.I have disk usage at 100% and the start up is always very quick. It says system is using all the disk space but this makes no sense to me. I dont have an anti virus but i am using the windows defender to look for malware. Could this possibly becauser i have too much dust and it makes my pc slower than ever?? I couldnt give you guys all my specs because i am not a whiz i just play this one game and thats about it. Please help me and if anyone could possibly add me on skype to walk me step by step i would be forever thankful. Thank you

update your network driver as a first attempt as a fix. IE go to your motherboard vendor website and install the updates for your BIOS and storage drivers (sata drivers). I mention the network drivers because a old driver can cause problems for the anti cheat systems provided in games. these systems often pipe network functions to virtual files hid in memory so that it is difficult for hacking tools to find them. You can download Microsoft sysinternal tools to view these "hidden" files. the tool would be rammap https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/ff700229 the tool can also empty the various working sets to clear the preloaded programs that windows memory management puts into memory as a performance boost. you would look the file details to find virtual files that are being loaded into memory.

Hello I was working on this all day and did a variety of things (i.e disabling windows search, superfetch, reseting virtual memory, clearing temp files, turning off notifications, disabling firewall windows defender etc).

This is what worked instantly

Go to your windows search bar and type cmd, when it pops up right click it and run as admin, type "WPR -cancel" and that should do the trick and lower System disk usage.

This problem started happening after the knew windows 10 update for a lot of people so if your effected by this i hope this short guide helps you out.

(you might have to do this every time you turn on your computer until they fix this)
Edit: just a heads up. For more in depth explanation about what the command your turning off does: wpr calls the Windows Performance Recorder. It is a performance recording tool that records system events to your disk which you can analyze. "-cancel" will cancel the current recording without saving the recorded data. In this case this fixes the problem. Make sure if anyone like me is is giving you advice like this to go into command promote that you google what the command does first to avoid risk to your PC!! ESPECIALLY if someone says to run it as admin. *credit to /u/Zahand for the information about what the command does
