I've had a problem where whenever I try to download anything large to my SSD (the same drive windows is installed on), my windows starts to lag and eventually everything freezes from anywhere between 30 seconds to a minute before I regain control. Most annoyingly, it happens when I download any game on steam to my SSD drive. During the time my PC is frozen, the disk speed slowly goes down as seen on the steam screenshot. I tested Origin and was able to install Battlefield 3 quickly and without any lag. My NVIDIA drivers also suffer the same way as steam but was able to install them. I just recently upgraded my motherboard, CPU, and memory as well as reinstalling windows, but to no avail. I have never had this problem before the upgrade. I noticed that my hard drives would do the same thing, but did not affect a whole lot since windows isn't installed on them. I'm out of options and this is my last resort. I've tried many things on the web like disabling services such as Superfetch and others, but see no difference.
