Display black during boot How do I get into bios

My laptop has no boot up screen or any picture at all but I can hear it booting up How do I fix?

Hi

Do you have a spare LCD screen you can connect the laptop to ?

This is to see if you have accidently diverted video to external screen only

usually Fn + another key reverses this

Alternatively back light for LCD screen has failed
