Display Blanked For 3 Seconds - Everything Is Now Massive

I was typing a word doc when my display blanked and when it came back everything was huge. It affects everything - browser size, menu app size, desktop size and the size of apps. I checked the resolution and everything "seems" normal at 1080p. Help?

Sounds like your GPU had driver issues to me, are you using a discrete GPU? Provide system specs as well please.

i5 3570, R9 270X, Windows 8.1 Pro

I think the drivers are the latest version. I even unplugged the HDMI cable and plugged it into integrated but no luck.

I am assuming you tried to reset your computer?

I tried restarting. To reset would apparently require the Windows 8 disc, and I dunno if it'll work as yesterday I downloaded the free 8.1 update.

Sorry I meant restart. Have you tried downloading the latest 8.1 drivers for your GPU?

If what I understand is correct, then your PC isn't detecting a graphic card. It is displaying the basic version to you. Go to Device Manager and check if you see your graphic card over there. Else do a scan for hardware changes, and it should auto install graphic drivers.

In PC settings I just changed the size of stuff to "smaller" instead of default and now almost everything is back to normal. The problem now is that the app pictures on the Windows 8 screen thing are still large - everything else is normal: desktop screen and all the apps. It's just the Windows 8.1 menu. Got any ideas?
