Display Continues to Freeze

I'm in need of quite a bit of help.

On rare occasions my computer decides to freeze, no audio loops, and my keyboard does not register anything, my mouse is no help either. I've tried the mainstream ctrl, alt, del to open task manager but as I said, nothing registers. My only option is to shut down my computer entirely with the case button and then start it back up. The only errors it decides to show is that Windows was not shut down correctly. The system fans stay on, everything inside the computer stays on until I shut it down.

I've opened a elevated CMD and used the command "SFC/ SCANNOW" this brings back no errors.

My windows operating software (Windows 7) is up to date.

My graphics card driver is up to date.

I've made a special point to monitor my Graphics card temperatures and turn up to fan speed to 55% at idle just in case, it still freezes (Idles around 38-40 degrees Celcius). My CPU is water cooled with the corsair h75 and doesn't go above 65 degrees Celsius (At idle it seems to stay around 48 degrees Celsius).
This is my second time building a computer and this is the only time I've had this problem.

System -

OS - Windows 7 Proffesional
GPU - Nvidia gtx 670
CPU - AMD FX-9590 (corsair h75 water cooler)
RAM - Corsair Vengeance ddr3 8gb (1x) 1866mghz
MB - M5A99FX PRO R2.0 (AM3 +)
PSU - corsair cx 750 watts
HD - Some 1TB model, I'm not sure, but it isn't near half full.

At this point I've run out of ideas, as you know, that's why I came here. Hopefully someone out there will be able to troubleshoot this problem better than I've tried. I have the remotest idea that this may be a problem with the graphics card (the display freezing).

* Check event viewer (application and system logs) at the time of crash(s).
* Download and run BlueScreenViewer (https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=blue+screen+view)
* scan for trojans & virus with ADWCleaner and Combofix.

* Btw, chkdsk /r is a much better option than sfc/ scannow, but I don't think that'll solve your issue regardless.

Addendum:

Also, Susuki's post reminded me that it might be overheating. However since you're monitoring CPU temps, I'm wondering if it's another component. I've seen a few users on this site whose video card caused their Northbridges to overheat and halt the system. It should reflect in the event viewer if that's the case. I'd still recommend opening the case and tilting the computer on it's side with the motherboard facing up. Then also pointing a fan toward the motherboard. It can't hurt anything. Then troubleshoot while the case is open.

The M5A99FX PRO R2.0 wants no more than 140W from the processor side. What is happening is that it's very likely that the VRM is struggling. Putting a fan to blow ontop of the VRM may temporarily solve this. The M5A99FX PRO R2.0 is more suited for the FX 8xxx CPU's.

Your best options right now in my opinion would be to turn off turbo boost/or lower the voltage/multiplier.

I have Microsoft Security Essentials, and I scan for viruses each night. Is there a program other than my BIOS that tells me the motherboard temperatures? If the north bridge is overheating then I would probably be able to see it reflect in temps. I highly doubt that my CPU is overheating as it is being cooled with a middle-end water cooler. Nothing is being overclocked in my system.
