Display cutting out on startup - driver problem?

So today I got a couple of error messages saying that the video display driver for my Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti had stopped working, but had recovered. A few minutes later my screens froze and went black, so I restarted, and then got error messages saying Windows didn't load correctly. I then ran in safe mode, which worked fine, and uninstalled the video driver, then installed the latest one. Upon restarting, the display now cuts out just after the Windows loading screen - the monitor seems to lose the signal.

I have tried reinstalling different drivers (in safe mode, which boots up without a problem) to no avail, however if I just uninstall the video driver and restart, Windows boots fine using the standard driver. The display also cuts out while installing the latest driver, forcing me to restart - only older driver versions seem to be able to be installed. I have dual monitors, and have tried using both separately, but the same problem occurs on both.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I managed to install the driver using Driver Talent, and the problem appeared to be fixed for a couple of hours - the resolution returned and dual monitors worked again, and I could watch videos etc. Then I began getting the same notification that the video driver had stopped working and recovered, and the screen froze again. After restarting, the problem is back again, and I now can't install the drivers using Driver Talent or any other method.

Do you think this is a hardware issue? Perhaps the GPU?
