I built my own hp dm4 3000 laptop from scratch. I bought this screen from ebay because I wanted the display to show 1440p resolution. When I turn on my laptop, the display doesn't even turn on.

Here's the screen:

I neeed a way to get this screen working because can't return it to Ebay now.

I think the lcd cable is the problem.
Can anyone find me an eDP 40 pin lCD Cable that supports AHVA and WQUXGA at 2560x1400p resolution or more???

are you sure you put everything together right? are you sure its not another issue..like bad memory, cpu, other issues that cause it not to post. most people don't build a laptop because most the time you cannot mix and match parts like a desktop.

but anyways ill try to help you.

lets start with your build. what is your motherboard, cpu and ram you used??

I'm using an i7 3940xm w/ intel hd 4000
My dedicated gpu is amd radeon 7470m
16gb ram Gskill ripjaws 1600mhz
500GB HDD

The laptop indicates its on with the fan spinning and everything, but it's only th display thats not turning on.

just as a guess but it looks like that motherboard only supports 35wattt cpu

you didn't tell me your motherboard number so I could be wrong but everything I look at for hp dm4 3000 is 35 watts.

again its a laptop, most people never build laptops just because there not really upgradable. there usually kinda of limited.

cpu list I found from hp http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03318732.pdf
