Display driver AMD driver stopped responding and has reovered

Hi there

Recently my computer has been freezing for a period of about 5 seconds before switching to a black or white desktop and showing an error message. The error message reads as below:

Display driver stopped responding and has recovered
Display driver AMD driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered

It tends to happen if i'm running full screen video.

I'm not sure how much info about the machine is needed but here's some:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Service Pack 1
AMD Athlon(tm) II 640 Processor 3.00 GHz
8Gb Ram
ATI Radeon HD 5400 Series Display adapter
Driver date 09/11/2011
version 8.920.0.0

I've tried to see if there are any updates available but I can't find any.

Can anyone please help!

Go here and get the latest drivers (Catalyst Software Suite with .NET 4 Support). That should solve the problem:

I use to test it by opening 4 youtube windows and waiting for it to freeze. Was just running 6 in HD and it was fine. Many thanks!
