Hi, i just purchased a ASUS Radeon r9 270x and i keep geeting an error that says "display driver amd driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered". I tryed tdr delay, updating bios, ram test, underclocking, udating drivers, rolling back drivers, checking if my mobo worked with ddr5 (it does),bought a 600w psu, and i still get the problem....

Intel i7 4th Gen 4770 3.4ghz
8 gb ram
Asus Radeon r9 270x
1tb hd
windows 8.1
evga 600b 600w

I have been getting this same error too. I just received a new computer from CyberPowerPC and right away this problem started to occur. I tried everything to fix it.

INTEL I7-4820K 3.7 GHZ 10M
GIGABYTE X79-UP4 QUAD CROSSFIRE/ QUAD SLI
800 WATT POWER SUPPLY
16GB DDR3 1866MHZ
MSI R9 270 2GB
WINDOWS 8.1 64

They are shipping me a replacement video card, but on the off chance that I install the replacement video card and the problem still exists, I want to learn everything I can about this problem so I can try to remedy it. I really don't want to have to ship the computer back to CyberPowerPC and wait forever for them to fix it and then there's the slow shipping process. I have ordered computers from so many different companies and manufacturers over the years and I have never received a computer that didn't have problems from day 1. And it always turns into a horrible nightmare. Just once it would be nice to receive a computer that actually works properly.

I will come back and reply whether or not the new replacement video card resolved the problem, but until then, I would really like to find out if anybody has managed to resolve this, and how they managed to fix the problem.

Same problem, but the card is NOT DOA. It works just fine in a Windows 7 HP machine. Don't know if the problem is with Windows 8 or the Intel mobo (i-7). HELP!

Ok, i was happy with my radeon 6970, had no problems whatsoever until BF4 came out, and even then everything was working fine, until one of the amd driver updates, dont even remeber which, i got the same "Display Driver Stopped Responding and has Recovered" over and over again in most of the games and even when working in windows or photoshop, it got so frustrating i finally decided to sell the graphics card and buy a ps3, i sold the graphics card (HD6970) and fitted 6450 just so i can use my comp, and there you go, again the same: Display Driver Stopped Responding and has Recovered, this time only in windows as i was not gaming with this card;), some month ago i bought r7 260x, deleted all my drivers and did a clean install of amd catalyst 14.9, guess what? same: "Display Driver Stopped Responding and has Recovered" in every game, currently im playing shadow of mordor and it just goes on and on and on, then i decided to do the only thing i did not try, i uninstalled amd catalyst and drivers and everything that goes with them, rebooted the pc and tried only with the drivers that win 8.1 comes with, and guess what? ive been playing for around two hours now without any problem whatsoever, it runs smooth, looks good and no more: "Display Driver Stopped Responding and has Recovered" error from which i had headaches and nightmares for around a year now.... so, it is the drivers fault, uninstall that shit from amd and enjoy trouble free gaming and working....cheers!

I have the same problem .. once I had Nvidia card and I had this problem so I thought it's a card problem so I bought Sapphire ATI HD6570 but unfortunately the problem still exist .. I downloaded AMD system monitor to check if graphic card misbehaves .. but I found that"Display driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered" appeared when processor reaches 100% .. I have E5700 dual core 3 Ghz intel processor and I overclocked it to 3.6 GHZ and the rate of "Display driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered" decreased sharply .. could problem be in processor performance ?!!

After memory trial and error check .. I found one stick is defective .. I replaced it by a new one and since then I haven't got display driver crash error again .. So please check your memory

I just recently began getting this error today, I was just sitting on youtube and my screen went black, I thought it was a system crash because I have been suffering from them for months until i finally replaced my RAM which fixed it. Anyway, the image came back and I got "AMD Graphics driver graphics display has stopped responding but has recovered successfully" I then went to render a video and I got "Update drivers" and some stuff telling me my media player might be out of date. my graphics drivers are all 100% up to date though and i do not know how to check for updates on windows media player.

I started getting this issue with my GTX 770 OC when I upgraded to windows 8.1 last month(it worked absolutely fine with Windows 7). After trying everything suggested the only solution seems to be resetting the factory OC card back to stock settings, which to me really doesn't seem like much of a solution.

I've been getting the same error for 4 months. Bought a Cyber Power computer.

Gigabyte GA-x99-UD3
i7 5820
8gb ddr4 ram
R9 270
600 watt PS
windows 8.1

I've sent my computer in for repairs now twice, every part has been replaced and still having this issue. I'm thinking its a 8.1 issue. This is the first built computer I've ever bought, built my own before. I've had this problem before, turned out it was ram on another computer. But can't seem to find the cause of it now...

Interesting, I'm having the exact same issue with that same setup, except I'm using HD 7970 crossfire and a 850watt power supply. I wonder if this is just a issue with that mobo+processor.
