Hello.

I was using my computer with Battlefield 3 open in the background when I had to force close because the screen wouldn't move. I then opened Firefox and it kept crashing.

I restarted, and then I got a little message that "Display Driver AMD driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered." I have had this problem since. The screen blinks from black to on every 5-10 seconds and the mouse works on and off. I am for the most part unable to open anything besides task manager even when the mouse icon does move. Therefore, I'm kind of unable to do anything with the computer.

I'm using an HIS Radeon IceQ 7870 on reference clocks, Windows 7 Home Premium. If it matters, the day I had the issue I had used Firefox for lots of HD YouTube videos for the first time. I've researched other people's problems but no one seems to have the blinking screen issue. With it, I'm unable to modify anything in my computer.

Help?

Well the first thing I would do is completely remove the current drivers reboot and install the latest version. If that does not resolve the issue you may have a bad card. I have used AMD GPU's for a long time and except for Vista I never had that problem.

Did you recently allow an auto-update from AMD for CCC and your video drivers? Do you have the latest SP installed and what about hotfixes?
