'Display driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered' problem?

Today, randomly, when I try to use Photoshop on my laptop, it will freeze and I have to close it through task manager. When I close it, a little pop-up message appears for like 5 seconds saying 'Intel HD Graphics Driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered'

I have noticed many other people have had this problem but I haven't been able to find any solution. (I have found many solutions for AMD or Nvidia graphics drivers but none for Intel)

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you!

(some PC info, if anyone needs it:
Acer Aspire E1-572P Laptop
Windows 8.1, 64 bit)
 
What is the intel driver you are using or the motherboard you are using so we can see what intel driver you are using? i'm assuming you are using the video directly from the motherboard and not a video card?
