Display Driver Stopped Responding

I installed Windows 7 on my system the other day and since then while browsing or gaming the screen turns black, gets back to normal and there is a notification saying "Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered successfully".

And once in 10 or 15 times the computer restarts after the same black screen.
I didn't have this issue with Windows XP.

system specs:
Dual Core E5200
1gb ram
Intel G45/43 Chipset

I updated the display driver as well but with no effect.
Will increasing the RAM to 2gb solve the issue??

Are you sure you have the latest video drivers? I would suggest you to uninstall the display driver completely from device manager and also from Programs and Features in Control Panel. Then download and install the latest display driver from the manufacturer’s website.
