display going black randomly

display keeps going black randomly . mainly during heavy load like gaming . display comes again and goes black again . sometimes just pressing any key in keyboard or by moving the mouse the display goes black . monitor light remains on . and sometimes show power saving mode tried in safe mode , still the problem remains . strange thing is when I removed graphics card from mother board and boot up the pc everything runs fine no display issue . this is not a monitor or vga cable or graphics card issue as I checked my gpu and monitor with other system and they run fine . now my guess is , it is either motherboard issue or smps issue . I cant confirm . and ya all my drivers are up to date and reinstalling windows also did not fixed the problem . can anyone confirm what might causing this problem ?

a zebronics 450 watt psu . dont know the name and its really old . I checked the psu and could not find the name .

And what are your other system specs?

I've never heard of that PSU. So that could very well be it. It might not be able to power your GPU anymore. Especially

when you say it's old, as PSUs degrade over time. That would explain why things don't black out when you take out your GPU.

amd am3+ fx 6300 black edition hexa core cpu
ati radeon HD 5770 1 gb ddr 5 gpu
4 gb corsair vengeance + 2 gb corsair total 6 gb ram
gigabyte 78-lmt-s2 am3+ socket motherboard .
750 gb segate harddisk , running windows 7 ultimate
and already told you the psu model .
