30-40mins of using any application (especially Teams, Zoom, or Chrome), my laptop display hangs and then the whole system completely locks up (e.g. caps lock indicator doesn't react). I have ascertained that the computer itself is still functioning, for example video callers can still see me moving and hear me, although my display is completely locked up.

Mouse jumps when trying to navigate and after 5-10s also completely gets stuck. System is then unresponsive for around15 minutes, after which the display goes black and then resets and everything is back to normal. At this point I do a restart just to clear the system.
Although the mouse jumps around, I am sometimes able to right click the Windows button, after some lag, click Shutdown or Signout (again after some lag), and eventually click restart. Even on the restart screen I can see the animating spinning dots struggle and freeze. During restart after such an episode, the HP boot logo with spinning circle shows, after which another black screen with spinning logo appears and the fans rev up. It seems the system is registering some anomaly. Once on logon the fans calm down. This only happens during restart after such a lockup and not on normal restarts.

Everything up to date according to Windows Update and HP Support Assistant. I have done a clean image installation of Windows 10 and problem still persists. Also the same with a clean factory HP installation. The issue was not present with the out of box installation of v1903, although this image is no longer available for restore via HP :( So far the issue has persisted through v1909, 2004, and now 20H2. Updating/resetting video drivers through AMD also has not resolved the issue. HP have no further solutions.

Kindly your input/troubleshooting before I purchase extra RAM.
