Question Display on Lenovo laptop suddenly gets black out

Dear tom's hardware members,

I would like to ask you for an advice. I have a problem that display on my laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad E480) suddenly gets black with flickering band at the top of the display and makes rustling noise as old television. Please, do you know what can be a problem with my laptop? Thank you in advance for the answer.

Loose wiring maybe. Sometimes the connectors going up to the LCD get dislodged, or there are wires being pinched in the hinge.

If you think it is more likely software, start by updating drivers for the laptop.

thank you very much. I think that is is hardware, not software, because I have dual boot: Ubuntu 20 and Windows 10 and it happened to me on both systems. So, I do not know how to repair these wires, maybe it needs to be done by professional.
