Display port 1.2 144hz?

I want to buy a 144hz monitor (XB270HU) 2560x1440 IPS and i was thinking which port to use HDMI or display port 1.2 in the internet i found article about that DP can only run 60hz but Has higer resolution on the other hand HDMI can run 144hz but only at 1080p so what should i do?
Maybe i can use both? Help pls

You would use display port, it is the only output on that monitor that will support 1440p 144hz with gsync. Not sure where you heard DP 1.2 can only support 60hz but it's wrong.

Your original source is incorrect.

People can criticize wikipedia all they want, but you should check out the red/green/yellow chart about halfway down this page for correct information on DP 1.2:

HDMI 2.0 can support 4K at 60Hz, "Full HD" as you referred to is 1080p. I believe you meant Ultra HD.

I stand corrected HDMI 1.3 supports 1080p at 120hz. While the bandwidth is of 4k60Hz is the same as 1080p240hz I don't see support for that. Unlike DP HDMI only support specific outputs so if the output isn't supported, even if the bandwidth is there, HDMI is not capable of outputting.

That was changed way back in HDMI 1.2. Any arbitrary format has been allowed since then.

My mistake. I have one of the monitors listed in the next section on the article you linked, I was under the impression that it was a limitation of hdmi. Skimming the wikipedia article didn't make that clear.
