DisplayPort is a video interface standard with a unique connector and cable. DisplayPort 1.2 doubled the bandwidth from the previous version, allowing 60 hz refresh rates on larger monitors.
To driver that sucker properly, you will need a graphics card with sufficient horsepower and a DisplayPort 1.2 output. You could use one with an older DisplayPort such as 1.0, but it will drive a high-resolution screen more slowly. You need a lot of graphics card to push so many pixels at 60 hz or higher.
