Question display port cable

Hi i have a CFG70 monitor and was wondering if i need a 1.2 cable or a 1.4 - all i do is play games and at the moment the menu on monitor shows 1.1 and 1.2 i have set it to 1.2 but if i connect a 1.4 cable will this improve anything ?

I believe the monitor itself only supports DP 1.2 anyway? So, no. I assume you can achieve the 144Hz over DP as per spec of the monitor?

There are now 1.4 "cables" but I believe it's mostly marketing. There's likely theoretical improvements, but DP cables should be backwards/forwards compatible.
