Display port monitor not detected Win7 64

I have a the new Acer gsync monitor which is now plugged into the displayport on my GPU (Gigabyte GTX970). I previously used dual link dvi for gaming, but I am reading vastly contradicting things online about whether GSYNC works with dual link DVI or just Displayport. If I am forced to use the latter, what do I need to do in order to have Windows detect it? My secondary 60 hz monitor is using the single link DVI.

Got it. In my haste to get it set up I had plugged it into the onboard DP port. All of the horror stories about Windows and displayports I've read in the forums had me a bit worried for a minute.
