Hello all,

I have three monitors. A Dell U312HM which has a Display Port out, VGA, DVI-I. I'm currently using the DVI. My graphics card is the GTX 1070 which has one DVI-I output, 2 HDMI and and 2 Display Ports.
I'm trying to get all three monitors working. I have a Display Port to HDMI cable. When I try and use that, so I free up my DVI output, my monitor doesn't recognise that anything is connected.

My other two monitors are an older Dell with VGA and DVI, and an LG which just has VGA.

Any thoughts why the first Dell isn't working with Display Port?

Thanks

Never head of a DP out only port, you can daisy chain DP monitors but any monitor with that option would have at least two DP ports, one for computer connection and...

[strike]Why you not using Display Port on U312HM to Display Port on GPU, this will free DVI for an old Dell and VGA on LG?[/strike]

Missed, no DP in, checking.

Update. Your monitor is not U312HM, but U2312HM, correct? You missed "2", am I right?

Manual stating that DP port can work as receiving as well, but you have to enable it to do so, do you have a cable? If yes, connect and:

First try Auto Select, if not working, manually check DP option.

This is from another Dell source troubleshoot manual

Note: If there is only ONE DisplayPort, then it will be a DisplayPort IN.

Your turn.

Never head of a DP out only port, you can daisy chain DP monitors but any monitor with that option would have at least two DP ports, one for computer connection and one to connect to another monitor. Also if you have a DP to HDMI cable, it may not work the other way. If anything you need an adapter for HDMI to DP, but a standard DP cable should work fine.
