Display problem laptop+tv with an RGB

I have a win10 laptop with a 1080p screen and it's connterted to a 1080p tv with an RGB. When I choose "show only on 2" in multiple display settings, the res changes and i can't change it back, the res tab in gray and empty. When I choose duplicate displays everything works fine, so how can I make it work with laptop screen off?

try connecting through HDMI or VGA if possible.
