Display shutting down during use

Hello all,
I'm having a strange issue and have some questions about what's going on.

First I'll let you all know the set up I'm running
3570k
7870 video card
450 cx500 psu
8 gb corsair mem
This rig is around 3 years old and have generally had no serious issues with it.

A few days ago my pc was just going black randomly. Pc isn't shutting down or anything just the moniter seems like it's shutting off due to inactivity.

The weird thing I'm noticing is that in my power options display is set to turn off after 15 mins. And these episodes seem to be around 15 mins from fresh restart to occur. Now this is happening while I'm using it. So the moniter shouldn't be going off because it hasn't been used in last 15 mins.

This morning I went back into settings and set it to never shut off and it seems to have stopped going on 8 hours. And this is just the inactive setting, not the sleep setting I always have sleep feature off.

So any ideas what's going on here? I haven't changed anything recently. It seemed to happen first when my son was playing Garrys mod.

Once the monitor goes blank does it come back on normally if you move the mouse or use the keyboard?

First thing I'd suspect is the CX power supply. Make sure the system is clean, maybe re-install the CPU heatsink with new heat grease, test with one RAM stick at a time. If none of that helps, try a different power supply.
