Display signal is lost after ten minutes and computer freezes

As the title says my pc keeps turning off the display after a few minutes and there is no hdd activity as the hdd light doesn't blink. I also pressed the num lock key but it doesn't blink. My pc seems to be frozen. It doesn't relate to a hdd failure as when I plug out the hard drive the same happens when I boot from cd

Intel core 2 duo e8400@3.06ghz
3 gb ram
biostar g31d m7
Samsung sata 3gbps 7200 rpm hdd

I forgot to tell that my cpu socket had bent 3 pins. One was repaired but the other two broke off. Fortunately those broken pin were ground and not used pins as the circuit diagram of lga 775 socket

What is the make and model of your PSU? How old is the unit? You may want to swap it out for another unit and see if the system powers up. On another note, pent/broken CPU pins can and will exhibit the issue you've just mentioned. Did this happen before the pins were bent/broken or did this happen recently?

It happened recently but my psu is 5 months old. Btw my pc powers up but the video doesnt stay on for long
