Display stops when side panel is place on.

My friend just built a PC and everything running fine except the GPU. when ever he tries to place the side panel on, the display stops working, the screen just goes black. sometimes restarting the PC without the cover works but then placing the cover back on does the same as before. Anyone know whats going on?

I wont be able to test your solutions/tips until tomorrow. Thanks for taking the time to help us

cable management, weird I know the same thing happened to me, but after I did some cable management everything is 100% and temps are down too
