Display wont show on my monitor

Okay if this doesn't make sense im sorry lol I just ordered a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 125W Dual-Core Processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103773

and this motherboard ASUS M4A78 Plus AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131381

and i have a 9600 gt nvidia connected to it and it wont display picture @ all i dont know what could be wrong :[

and i bought these ram sticks OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2G10664GK http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227452


is there somethign wrong i should? look @ also im runnin a 700 watt power supply from coolmax i think it thats a nice heatsink from cool master tx2 any help would be apreciated

Are you hearing beep codes to verify the PC is POSTing?
Make sure the 6 pin pcie connector is secure.
Make sure the video card is secure in the slot

I read all that and this is my 3rd build evreything seems perfect But i get no sound when i boot up the pc and no video setting at all i connected a usb mouse i get no power @ all I dont know what could be wrong im gonna try test the video card on another pc if thats not the case mayby the board or cpu? but yea i checked evreything and i get the green led light But the only thing i cant do on my tower i try to hold down the button to turn off my pc and it wont turn off at all i need to push the switch in the back only way it turns off any help at all would be appreciated and thanx alot

If the power button doesn't work, double check the front panel connections in your manual.

Asus boards usually come with an internal speaker. Did you plug that into the board?

If it still isn't working, remove the board from the case. Place the board next to the case on a piece of cardboard. Plug in the psu, HD, video card, and 1 stick of RAM. Then try to boot.

The illuminated motherboard LED really doesn't mean that much. A PSU has two independent sections, the main power supply circuits that provide the operating power to the computer and a small (10 - 15 watt) 5 volt power supply called the standby power supply. Among other thins, the standby power supply turns on the motherboard LED.

i see well i put the graphic card on this pc and its workin fine because im on it.. SO thats not the problem i will take it off my motherboard and set it up on the side with a carboard ill let u guys know :] thanx for the help

Okay It works now thank u guys! so much :] it was a pin underneath the board so i guess it was touching the motherboard and now its great! u guys are the best especially aford!

Hey one question my audio doesn't work i tried installed the drivers from the disc but im runnin windows vista 7 64 Is there anyway i can get sound?

Try going to the Asus's website they should have your drivers.

evreything is working crips but i just have one more question when i turn on my pc it takes atleast 20 sec so it can display anything is that to long or is that normal?

That is a bit long. You may want to check your BIOS setting to see if quick boot is enabled.

well quick boot is enable i turn off asus express gate u think thats the reason? it usto load faster i dont know whats happenin :-0 or mayby i never realized it lol

it could be a failing/weak psu. Coolmax isn't known for high quality psu's.

really well i didn't have enough $ to buy a good one But i think i should invest to a better one

Your psu should have plenty of watts and amps on the 12v rails. How long have you been using it?

When you start it up, does everything else power up quickly, other than the display? Fans, HD, LEDs...?

yea evreything powers up fine i can hear da fans led hdd blinks the dvd burner works its just the display waits a while to power up my monitor
