i have gigabyte motherboard, which has ati radeon 3000 hd graphic chipset inbuilt. now i want to connect the cpu to tv using vga to hdmi cable, please let me know is this possible

If your motherboard doesn't have an HDMI output, use the DVI one with a DVI-HDMI converter. Your TV may even have a DVI input, in which case you will only need the cable.
