Hello, All!

I'm gamemaster of Phost 4.0, plist2.4 game. pconsfig.src using from
phost4 distrib with "combat" section from plist2.4 distrib.

One of my players was encountered problem with subj. All previous combats
generally was displayed correctly, but combat in 39 turn on client differ
from host results.

Client -
VPA version 3.61.
PVCR version 3.1.

I have recently download newest pvcr 4.0f, but they report below:

WARNING^ Incomplete configuration information/ Some
defaults will be used/ Displayed battle results may not match actual
hosting results/
Press a key///

WARNING^ Limiting ship #97's experience level to 0
Press a key///

First warning looking as source of troubles, but how I can detect what
kind of "configuration information" is missing ? May be "Experiense" ? but
pconfig.src contain such section.

PS: Simulation in ccBsim gain comparable results.
All host data are availble.

Yes, I would say the Experience setting is the problem here.
Apparantly ship 97 has experience higher than zero but pvcr doesn't
pick this up due to config problems. As the ship did get experience
from the host, the pconfig.src that the host is using seems
okay. Maybe you need to redistribute that file so that everyone has
the same.

I looked on the website mentioned, www.amusingballs.com/vgap. Which
game is it? Mountain King? I see no Experience section in the
pconfig.src that is in the conqhost.zip. I may overlook something
though as my Ukrainian (?) is less than adequate. ;-)

Bye,

Ship #97 lost in this combat. But, pvcr show his wins.

I'm make local dir for client, copy "vpa at all", supply pconfig.src from
game directory, and still see this warning messages. I will retry client
tune little late, when return to host-machine.

There is another game running on my host. I lost my login/password from
ip-provider of www.amusingballs.com and I don't have rights for
aquire such information. So, www-information at this URL was staled.

PVCR 3.1 is clearly too old to play PHost 4.x combat. Use 4.0f or later.

This message is displayed if PVCR thinks you gave it a PHost 1.x or
PHost 2.x battle. Those versions include a config block with the VCR
files, and that block was too short. You should never see this message
with proper 3.x or 4.x combat.

Did you use 'corr' or something like that? PVCR now does detect
corr.exe, but there might be other implementations of the idea around.
'corr' is no longer needed with VPA 3.61, anyway.

Did VPA mangle the VCRs somehow? I heard a rumour that VPA merges VCR
files; I have not tested that with PVCR yet.

> WARNING^ Limiting ship #97's experience level to 0

This means that a ship with nonzero experience was encountered, but
NumExperienceLevels was 0 or not set.

Do you have both pconfig.src and shiplist.txt in your game directory?
PVCR needs both. shiplist.txt can be thought of as a part of the ship
list, much like hullspec.dat.

Problems was here. After placing hullfunc.txt from plist distrib bug was
gone.

Thanks, Stefan!
