I am about to purchase an extra monitor (1080p) which will be connected to my system through an R9 270X.

Unfortunately, the R9 270X has only one HDMI port and so to ensure I can use both monitors concurrently I am going to have to buy an "x to HDMI" cable.

However, the three other ports on the 270X differ and are as follows:

DisplayPort 1.2
Dual-Link DVI-D
Dual-Link DVI-I

To maximize my monitor's potential, which cable should I go for, or will it not matter?

Solution
You can just use a DVI cable that comes with the monitor, the monitor should have a DVI input. @ 1080P 60Hz any of these outputs will work fine.
It doesn't matter, they're all digital outputs capable of simple (=cheap) and lossless conversion 1080p HDMI. If you're going higher resolution or high refresh-rate gaming monitors then you need to pay more attention to which ones to use, but 1080@60 is fine from any. Get whichever one is cheapest (almost certainly DVI -> HDMI).

Although you actually answered my question, Vosgy correctly pointed out that there will be a DVI input on the monitor and a DVI cable that will come with the monitor. As such, I have chosen his/her reply as the solution but thanks a lot for the quick and insightful response.
