[SOLVED] DisplayPort 1.4 video card and 1.2 display

Hey!
I thinking of buying a RTX 2080 Super and I saw that it uses DisplayPort 1.4 and my monitor uses DisplayPort 1.2, can I use a 1.2 cable? Will it still give me 144hz in 1080p or even work at all? Right now I'm using a DVI cable with a GTX 1080 so I'm worried if I need another display.

I see, but it doesn't say if I can use a 1.2 cable on a 1.4 card..
